US Army Releases First Ever Stability Operations Doctrine

Focus on Defense:
WASHINGTON, Oct. 6, 2008 -- The U.S. Army Combined Arms Center is releasing the first ever Stability Operations doctrine, which will be posted to the front page of http://www.leavenworth.army.mil/ beginning Monday, Oct. 6. This doctrine is the "Road map from conflict to peace."
When FM 3-0, the Army's capstone manual, was released earlier this year, it made stability operations coequal with kinetic operations for the first time. FM 3-07 "Stability Operations" advocates a "Comprehensive Approach" where the military works with other governmental and non-governmental organizations when conducting civil or stability operations.
More to follow.
