Pentagon Identifies Marine Casualty

WASHINGTON, June 3, 2009 -- The following news release made available Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Defense is the text of a statement identifying a casualty:
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.(Report from a U.S. Defense Department news release.)
Lance Cpl. Matthew G. Reza, 27, of Austin, Texas, was killed May 31 as a result of a non-hostile incident in Khandahar province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S. C.
The incident is currently under investigation.
