News in Balance:

YOKOSUKA, Japan, July 8, 2009 -- U.S. and Japanese units are searching for a crewmember from USS Shiloh (CG 67) who fell overboard while the ship was transiting into Tokyo Bay today.

The sailor was conducting routine evolutions to prepare the ship for its return to port when the Sailor apparently fell from the fantail shortly after 1 p.m. local time.

USS Shiloh was returning to Yokosuka following a port visit to Kure, Japan.

Units from the Japanese Coast Guard, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and U.S. Navy are participating in search operations. USS Shiloh will not return today as scheduled so that it may continue the search.

The sailor's name is being withheld while the search is ongoing.
