Navy contract to bring 350 jobs to Mobile shipyard
MOBILE, Ala. -- Austal USA expects 350 new jobs at its Mobile shipyard will come with the Navy's $223 million contract for a new warship.The contract was awarded Friday to Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics Corp., the prime defense contractor that has teamed with Austal to build a version of the Navy's new Littoral Combat Ship, or LCS.
