FEMA Official: Katrina Response 'Broken'

Like a broken record, here we have yet another story from the mainstream media giving undue weight to e-mail communications. While the documents may be telling, e-mail messages in no way convey any notion of real time action on issues discussed. Additionally, e-mail is notorious for miscommunicating the thoughts of those whose strengths don't include English composition.

I said it once and I'll say it again, when was the last time you e-mailed 911 to report a fire? Keep that question in mind as you vet these kinds of news stories.
