Military's Information War Is High-Tech
IRAQ/MIDDLE EAST
COMMENTARY
The American "information warriors" should be just as well equipped as any branch of the military. However, I'm not so sure it helps for the Times to make a comparison to the free speech we enjoy inside the US and psychological operations carried out by the American military in-theater.
The Times would have you believe that democracy building and supporting a free press in Iraq is in conflict with information warfare. Perhaps the Times has forgotten recent history and the lengths the US had to go to insure the world was free from Nazi tyranny and Japanese imperialism. Then again, when it comes to objectively publishing facts, there are times that maybe the Times should question its own credibility.
