Iran Hails Hamas Victory

We didn't have to wait long for Iran to respond to the Hamas victory. The story just hasn't been picked up by the mainstream media.

"Just as Islamic Iran defends the rights of the Palestinians, we defend the rights of Islamic Iran. We are part of a united front against the enemies of Islam," Khaled Meshaal, the Hamas political chief said.

Hamas and Iran are close allies and declared in December that they were forming a "united front" against Israel. The exiled head of Hamas, Khaled Mishal, promised to step up attacks on Israel if it took military action against Iran's nuclear program, according to Al Jazeera.
