Lou Rawls: 50 years of class, soul
(USA Today) -- Lou Rawls, the classy soul star whose easy smile and rich baritone made him one of music's most distinctive singers, is probably best known for his 1970s pop hits: You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine, Natural Man. But Rawls' repertoire was far broader.

By 1959, he had switched to secular music. In 1962, he made the jazz album Stormy Monday, his first album of more than 50. Four years later, he had his first big R&B/pop hit, Love Is a Hurtin' Thing, and he opened for The Beatles at Crosley Field in Cincinnati that year. He won his first of three Grammy Awards in 1967 with Dead End Street. Read full story.
