A suspected pirate vessel burns in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Somalia March 18, 2006. U.S. Navy crewmembers aboard USS Gonzalez (DDG 66) and USS Cape St. George (CG 71) returned fire when they were fired upon by the pirates as they were conducting maritime security operations in international waters and attempted to perform a routine boarding of the suspicious vessel towing two skiffs.
