Oil hits new peak over $75 as funds buy
NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Oil prices vaulted to a new peak over $75 a barrel on Friday as investment funds snapped up crude futures and tension mounted over Iran's nuclear intentions.

Abbas takes on Hamas over security appointment
GAZA (Reuters) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Hamas-led government were locked in a stand-off on Friday over a senior security appointment, heightening political tension as the new administration's financial crisis deepened.
