Bush Says War on Terror to Last for Generations
News in Balance:
WASHINGTON, Dec. 17, 2008 -- The war against global terrorism isn’t over and likely will continue for years, President George W. Bush told military and civilian students at the Army War College today.
The war will be a “generational conflict,” said Bush, who traveled to Carlisle, Pa., to address members of the college’s class of 2009. The Army War College prepares selected senior officers and civilians for increased rank and responsibilities.
U.S. military operations targeting terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq, Bush said, have made America safer since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the nation.
