IED Blast Kills 4 Coalition Troops in Southern Afghanistan
Dispatches from the Front:
KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 24, 2009 -- Four Coalition members were killed today in southern Afghanistan when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. The incident happened at about 12:40 p.m. while the Coalition members were on a joint patrol with Afghan National Security Forces. An Afghan civilian working with the Coalition forces was also killed in the incident.
Coalition personnel have secured the scene and the incident is under investigation.
Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
