WASHINGTON, Feb. 13, 2009 -- Embedded above is a b-roll of U.S. Marines with Charlie Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (1st LAR), patrolling local Iraqi villages near the Syrian border on December 2, 2008 Ninewa province, Iraq. 1st LAR is patrolling the Ninewa province in support of Operation Defeat al-Qaida in the North (DAN) II, seeking out signs of insurgents activity and weapons cache in the area.
