OEF Summary, Feb. 15, 2009: Troops in Afghanistan Nab Weapons Supplier

WASHINGTON, Feb. 15, 2009 -- Afghan National Army commandos and coalition forces captured a suspected weapons facilitator in the Anar Dara district of Afghanistan’s Farah province yesterday, military officials reported.
The commandos raided the suspect’s compound while coalition forces formed a security perimeter. After the combined force positively identified the suspected weapons facilitator, the commandos took him into custody.
The suspect is believed to have been supplying insurgent forces with weapons, munitions, bomb-making materials, and financing insurgent activities throughout western Afghanistan.
