You can see from this video why Obama's idea of a surge in Afghanistan is stupid. There's nothing there, no infrastructure, nothing but rocks, goats, locals, and a few Taliban that run in from Pakistan.
Dumping 50,000 US troops in Afghanistan would be like threading a needle with a sledgehammer.
