WASHINGTON, May 4, 2009 -- Newswires reported this afternoon that House Democrats are refusing to pay for President Barack Obama's plan to relocate prisoners from the Guantanamo detention facility where enemy combatants are being held.

The Associated Press noted that Obama has signed an executive order to close the facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by early next year.

The Obama administration has yet to come up with a plan on where to put the 240 or so detainees.

News sources have reported that between 50-100 detainees are likely to be sent to locations within the United States.

AP speculated that no lawmaker wants the accused terrorists in their backyard.

House Democrats unveiled a $94.4 billion war funding bill Monday and it had no funding for Obama's relocation plan.
