WASHINGTON, May 20, 2009 -- Newswires reported this morning that three members of a U.S. Navy HH-60 Seahawk helicopter crew were killed after their helicopter went down in the waters off San Diego, California, a U.S. Navy spokeswoman said Wednesday.

CNN reported that rescuers are still searching for the two remaining crew members from the helicopter, which went down late Tuesday night, U.S. Navy spokeswoman Karin Burzynski said.

Officials said the helicopter had taken off from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz before it went into the sea during a training exercise, according to the Associated Press.
