OEF Update, Sept. 15, 2009: US Servicemember Dies in Southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, Sept. 15, 2009 -- A U.S. servicemember died as a result of a non-combat-related injury today in southern Afghanistan.
“There is a deep sense of loss whenever one of our troops dies, and I know many others feel this tremendous loss also. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of our service member,” said Col. Wayne Shanks, a spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force.
The incident is under investigation.
