OEF Update, Sept. 16, 2009: 3 US Servicemembers Killed in Southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, Sept. 16, 2009 -- Three U.S. servicemembers were killed in southern Afghanistan when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, Sept. 15.
"Acknowledging the constant dangers service members mutually face in Afghanistan’s environment, we are deeply saddened by this tragedy," said Col. Wayne Shanks, an International Security Assistance Force spokesperson. "We extend heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of these brave servicemembers. We all grieve their loss."
