Wire: Oshkosh Nabs $409 Million Army Deal for Mine Resistant All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV)

WASHINGTON, Oct. 12, 2009 -- Newswire services today reported that Oshkosh Corp. recently received a $408.4 million contract from the Army for an additional 923 mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles for Afghanistan.
TheStreet.com reported that the add-on order extends a contract originally awarded to Oshkosh in June. The U.S. military has now ordered a total of 5,219 of the Oshkosh vehicles. The company said the deals are worth $2.76 billion.
Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wis., and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2012.
The first M-ATV vehicles arrived in Afghanistan late last month.
